Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender contacts

MESMAC North East works throughout the North East with gay and bisexual men, and with other men who have sex with men, to increase the range of options open to them. MESMAC provides a range of information on organisations and services for these groups - men only, married men, and black and minority ethnic men - as well as information on men and women's mixed groups, lesbian and bisexual women only groups and trans and gender dysphoria groups. MESMAC also provides a free and confidential 1 hour HIV testing service for local gay and bisexual men.

The local LesBi Sexy and Healthy website has been created to help lesbian and bisexual woman to stay happy and healthy. It covers things like health, wellbeing and sex, giving answers to questions that you may have wanted to know but were too afraid to ask.

There is a range of information and organisations to support you to find a partner, whatever your sexuality. However, some groups of people may find it easier than others. If you are an older person who is lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, you may find it more difficult to meet new people. There is information to help you with this on the local Information NOW website.

Stonewall, the national lesbian, gay and bisexual charity, provide a free information service, covering issues such as civil partnerships, employment and parenting.

On this page we have included a selection of organisations that can provide support, advice and services, sometimes free of charge.  However, if you are interested in seeing a full list of organisations that provide services locally and are approved by Newcastle City Council, please click here.
